TheWineCellarInsider.com, May 2020

An outstanding wine, especially when you consider the vintage, here you find lush, silky textures and layers of ripe, sweet, fresh, soft plums, fresh cherries and nuances of chocolate, licorice, spice, smoke, flowers and...

Wine Enthusiast, March 2020

This wine is stacked with tannins and concentrated fruits, with a dense texture. The wine's future is assured and long term. Drink from 2024. - ROGER VOSS

Wine Spectator, March 2020

This is brimming with raspberry and boysenberry compote flavors, while mouthwatering anise and pain d'épices notes fill in the background. Reveals a flash of ganache, a streak of tar and an echo of bramble through the...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, April 2018

(WA 92-94 points) Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Clinet opens slowly to reveal vibrant red and black fruits: red currants, black cherries, plums and cassis with touches of roses, yeast extract, wood smoke and...

jamessuckling.com, January 2020

A fresh and fruity Clinet with tangy acidity highlighting the plum and cherry character. Reserved style. Medium body, creamy tannins and a delicious finish. Linear and focused in general. Needs a year or two to calm down...

Rose petals and raspberry leaf on the nose, this is delicate and charming, smoky edges, soft appealing raspberry and red cherry, plenty of caressing fine tannins. Real charm, and so deft in its construction, great...

The 2017 Chateau Clinet checks in behind the 2015 and 2016 (and I suspect the 2018), yet it does well in the vintage. Based on 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 72% new barrels (the estate has moved to...

The vinification process for Chateau Clinet aims to maintain the freshness, finesse and character. Harvesting is always carried out manually, and following meticulous selection, gravity delivers the grapes to the vats. The cellar layout allows good traceability from the vineyard to the end of the aging period. The production of a well-defined parcel can be followed in each vat, then each barrel.

On average, fermentation and maceration lasts for one month, whereupon the wine is transferred into barrels. ‘Free run’ wines are separated from ‘pressed’ wines, and then aged separately. The wine is aged in French oak barrels. around 60 percent new with the remaining being one-year old.
