The 2017 Domaine Les Monts Fournois Côte Cramant Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is a 100% Chardonnay Champagne from the Grand Cru village of Cramant in the Côte des Blancs. It’s a young label with serious guidance: the domaine is run by Juliette Alips, with mentorship from Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche, and—until estate fruit comes on stream with the 2022 vintage—these wines are sourced from top grower vineyards. This cuvée is built around place and patience, spending seven years on the lees and coming in at 12.5% alcohol.

Critical response has been notably strong, led by an excellent 96+ point review from Audrey Frick for Jeb Dunnuck. Frick calls it “seductive,” noting it is “showing very well today, with a more immediate and approachable character.” She highlights a “refined, powdery-creamy mousse,” flavors that lean toward “ripe fresh peach and candied citrus,” and a “long-lasting, chalk-driven finish.” Her suggested drinking window (2027–2050) frames it as a wine with both early appeal and real runway.

Antonio Galloni at Vinous also reviewed the 2017 favorably at 93 points, focusing on its aromatic reach—“ripe citrus, tropical and floral notes”—and describing a palate that is “decidedly powerful and vinous.” Galloni reports a low dosage of 3.5 g/L and notes it was disgorged in June 2025; Frick cites 4 g/L, a small discrepancy that still places the wine firmly in the low-dosage, terroir-forward camp.

Both reviewers acknowledge the context of a “challenging” year, but the consensus is that this bottling turns 2017 into something generous, mineral-driven, and convincingly complete—creamy in texture, chalky in finish, and more immediately charming than many Blanc de Blancs built for the long haul.
