The 2017 Pauillac is a gorgeous wine. Unlike most of the Latour releases of these last few years, it needs more time in bottle! There is plenty of textural depth, but the acids are high and the tannins are a bit larger in size than is typical for the Pauillac. I very much like the wine's exuberance and power. The 2017 is still very vibrant. It just needs time to develop more aromatic nuance. -- Antonio Galloni

An extremely fragrant vintage of Pauillac de Latour, expressive, nuanced and supple. There are some earthy notes running through the fruits, with less clear density overall than in the vintages immediately before and after this one. The emphasis instead is on raspberry and brambled blackberry fruit with tobacco, grilled cedar, touches of roebud and sage. 20% new oak.

Kicking it off with a mix of cassis and lead pencil, this Medium/full-bodied wine is forward and fruity with freshness, lift and soft textures in a red berry finish. Latour’s indecently good 2017 Le Pauillac de Château Latour bursts with fragrant aromas of creamy cassis, wild berries and plums. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and polished, it’s supple and succulent, with an enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and already melting tannins. This is already very approachable on release. - WK

Generous, featuring plum and cassis aromas and flavors, this pure, expressive wine glistens with floral and iron details through the focused finish. Sneakily long. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2021 through 2032. — JM

Takes a minute to get into its stride, but quickly delivers bright blueberry and blackberry fruit on the palate with juicy acidity, grilled almond and liquorice root. This has clear grip right through the palate, and an overall sense of verve, it trips along without getting too caught up in itself. Accomplished and enjoyable with lovely spice and saffron on the finish. (Drink between 2023-2038)

The 2017 Le Pauillac De Château Latour is round and forward, with charming notes of ripe currants, dried tobacco, and sandalwood in its medium-bodied, elegant profile. This is a pretty, already accessible, delicious Pauillac to enjoy over the coming decade or more, although, I have no doubt it will evolve for longer.
