The 2018 Merlot is gorgeous. Floral and savory notes give the 2018 a striking bouquet. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2018 possesses remarkable depth and harmony. Rose petal, sage, mint and cinnamon complement the red berry fruit. The 2018 is such a distinctive wine. It can be enjoyed now, but readers who can cellar it will be in for a treat down the line. If opened young, a few hours of air does wonders in releasing all of the wine's fruit and structure. Dollops of Cabernet Franc round out the blend.
