The 2019 Mondot is plush, silky and delicious, just as it was en primeur. Bright red-toned fruit, cinnamon, mint, crushed rocks, blood orange and exotic spice lend gorgeous primary intensity. The second wine of the estate and all Merlot, the 2019 Mondot By Mondot has a juicy, earthy black cherry, spring flowers, pen ink, and graphite-driven bouquet that carries to a medium-bodied red that builds nicely with time in the glass, offering ripe tannins, plenty of richness, and outstanding length. It will keep for 10-12 years, easily.

The 2019 Mondot derives from Merlot growing on newly acquired vineyards on Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau that can't be included in the grand vin until the region's new classification is finalized. Offering up aromas of wild berries, rose petals and coniferous forest floor, it's medium to full-bodied, lively and succulent, with a supple, charming profile and a penetrating finish.
