Decanter, January 2022

Lovely noble rot aromas but quite modern in profile with freshness and energy. On the palate there is expressive and open flavours of honeyed lemon, orange rind and pineapple well wrapped in a viscous, rich, sumptuous and...

janeanson.com, October 2021

Expertly constructed, with luxuriously intense pineapple, mango and apricot pit flavours matched step for step by bitter orange peel, lime juice and tingling grated ginger. Sauternes doesn't always manage to deliver such...

TheWineCellarInsider.com, July 2024

My first taste of Rieussec in the new, controversial bottle. I liked the wine more than the bottle. The nose explodes with honeysuckle, spice, honeyed tropical fruits, white peaches, candied tangerines, and pineapples...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, September 2020

(WA 94-96 points) Pale lemon-gold in color, the 2019 Rieussec flaunts a delicately scented nose of fresh grapefruit, lemon curd, lime leaves and clover honey with wafts of jasmine, white truffles and nutmeg. The palate...

Vinous, February 2023

The 2019 Rieussec, which I did not taste either from barrel or after bottling, has quite a powerful bouquet with good levels of botrytis, though not necessarily complex or nuanced. Touches of orange blossom and quince...

This is so delicious, with a medium body with medium sweetness. Dried mango and pineapple, as well as some vanilla. Bright and fresh. Lighter than some years. Yummy. Tarte-tartin. Love the new bottle. Drink and enjoy.

Chateau Rieussec has been a leader among the great wines of Sauternes for several generations. Ranked as a Premier Grand Cru in 1855, it is made with a subtle blend of Semillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle. Aged in oak barrels for 18 to 26 months depending on the year, with 50 to 55% in new barrels. The annual production varies a great deal depending on the vintage, but on average is about 6,000 cases, however, none was made in 1977, 1993 and 2012.
