The 2020 Clos Puy Arnaud is one of the great wines of this vintage. Rich, deep and exquisitely layered, Clos Puy Arnaud shows how compelling Cotes de Castillon can be. Inky red fruit, blood orange, spice and mocha all race across the palate. Silky tannins wrap around the plush inviting finish. The saline energy and precision here is just unreal. The 2020 was aged in a combination of barrels of different sizes and 1/3rd amphora. This is a wine of tremendous character and personality. By Antonio Galloni on December 2022

A burst of ripe berry fruit on the nose, this has the most gorgeous depth of expression. More tannic than in many years, but not bitter or tight. An excellent wine, walking the line of power and sappy juice. Purity of fruit expression is clear. 3.32pH. Certified biodynamic.10% new oak the rest in large sized oak vats and amphora. Unfiltered and unfined.

Retains the gunsmoke whiff that reflects the reductive way of working followed by owner Thierry Valette, vibrant and crunchy blue and black fruits, concentrated but absolutely light on its feet, this is a delicious 2020 that is bursting with flavour, one to look out for.

(90 - 92 points) Deep purple-black in color, the 2020 Clos Puy Arnaud bursts with lifted notes of stewed black plums, Morello cherries and black raspberries, plus suggestions of potpourri, unsmoked cigars and rose hip tea. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled and refreshing, delivering a great intensity of red and black berry flavors with a plush texture, finishing long and fragrant. Very pretty!- LPB

Ripe and juicy, this sports fun black currant and blackberry notes, along with sweet tobacco and sanguine accents. The fruit drives nicely through the finish, where an alder edge plays out, too.
