Discreet wood frames fresh and layered aromas of red and dark currant, floral and anise whiffs. The supple, delicious and energetic medium-bodied flavors possess excellent depth on the balanced, focused and sneaky long though very firm finale. This is a wine of contrasts as the velvety mid-palate doesn't prepare you for the dense tannic spine shaping the finish.

Gros Frère et Sœur is the second-largest owner in Echézeaux after Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Their wine is produced from a large holding in Les Loächausses with minor additions from Les Beaux Monts Bas and Les Cruots. Given the size of the holding (more than 2ha), one might wish for more here. The fruit quality is high-toned and bright with raspberry and floral notes, but there is an indistinct, almost soupy quality on the nose and a soft texture on the palate that lacks tension and grip.
