First released in 2005 as a special project of Tenuta Sette Ponti's Antonio Moretti, Orma translates to “mark” or “footprint”. Delighting critics and connoisseurs alike, this single-estate Super Tuscan has received many awards and accolades.

The 2020 Orma Proprietary Blend from Tuscany's Bolgheri region is a red wine that has garnered significant praise from professional reviewers. This wine is a blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc, and it boasts an alcohol content of 15.0%.

James Suckling awarded the wine an impressive 97 points, highlighting its "tobacco, sage, and rosemary" notes, along with "redcurrants and cassis." He describes it as "full-bodied, yet polished," with a "solid and dense center-palate." Suckling advises that the wine is tight now but will open nicely with a couple of years of aging, recommending it be tried after 2025.

Decanter also provided a high rating of 96 points, noting the estate's 7.5-hectare location between Sassicaia and Ornellaia. The wine undergoes an 18-day maceration in stainless steel and is matured for 18 months in barriques, followed by an additional 12 months in the bottle. Decanter describes it as "fresh and aromatic," with a nose full of "sweet red fruits and herbs" and a palate that is "intense, zingy, and spicy," showcasing "vibrant red and black hedgerow berries" along with "chocolate and herb streaks."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gave the 2020 Orma a score of 94 points, describing it as "richly concentrated and midnight black in appearance." The review highlights its "ink-like flavors of wild plum, blackberry confit, dark spice, and cured tobacco," with a recommendation to pair it with a classic T-bone cut bistecca alla fiorentina.

Wine Spectator rated the wine at 92 points, emphasizing its "luscious" nature with "plum, blueberry, and blackberry flavors" complemented by "tobacco, vanilla, and oak spices." The review notes the wine's "fine length" and "persistent finish," suggesting it will be best enjoyed from 2025 through 2033.

Jeb Dunnuck, awarding it 93+ points, remarks on the wine's "deeper red hue" and "layered depth," with aromas of "black cherry, cocoa powder, pine sap, and crushed flowers." He acknowledges its "gripping structure and angular, snappy acidity," predicting it will benefit from more time in the bottle, with a drinking window from 2025 to 2040.

Overall, the 2020 Orma Proprietary Blend is a well-regarded wine with excellent potential for aging, offering complex flavors and a robust structure.
