The 2022 Comando G Navatalgordo is a distinctive Grenache from the village of Navatalgordo in Spain. This wine, produced by Comando G, showcases a unique character that reflects its high-altitude origins and the quartz-rich soils of the region. According to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, the 2022 vintage is particularly remarkable for its tension and sharpness, traits that are less typical for the warm year it was produced in.

The wine is crafted from grapes sourced both from Comando G's own vineyards and from growers who collaborate with them. The grapes are harvested from vines situated at an average altitude of 1,100 meters, which contributes to the wine's lower alcohol content and higher acidity, even in a warmer year like 2022. The wine was fermented with full clusters in concrete and oak vats, followed by a maceration period of 35 to 40 days. Its aging process took place in concrete and oak foudres, further developing its complex profile.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded the 2022 Navatalgordo an impressive score of 96, noting its "electric acidity" and "very floral and expressive nose." The review highlighted that despite the warmer conditions of 2022, the wine maintains a "contained 13% alcohol and a pH of around 3.0," which are considered incredible parameters for that vintage. The wine is described as having a "chalky character and slow development," requiring time to fully reveal its depth. It also exhibits "meaty aromas" and spiciness over time, which the reviewer associates with a "warmer year and more Gevrey character."

With only 11,047 bottles produced, the 2022 Comando G Navatalgordo is a wine of notable scarcity and quality, offering a serious and tense profile that distinguishes it from its peers.
