(JD 94-97 points) As to the Grand Vin, the 2024 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is based on 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot, resting in 100% new oak. Its deep purple hue is followed by a terrific 2024 that defies the...

Vinous, April 2025

(VN 94-96 points) The 2024 Ducru-Beaucaillou is a sleek, elegant wine. Silky tannins give the 2024 its distinctly mid-weight, lithe personality. Readers will find a gracious Ducru built more on persistence and nervy...

Ducru-Beaucaillou is a fine, elegant, and delicious wine with a long finish - in short, an archetypal Saint-Julien. The grapes are hand-picked, and the sorting process takes place on mobile tables in the vineyard to keep the healthy grapes separate from substandard ones. Fermentation is by traditional techniques and only the best fruit is used to produce the wine.

The 2024 Ducru Beaucaillou, a Bordeaux blend from the renowned region of St Julien in Bordeaux, France, is a wine that has garnered significant praise from critics. This red wine, produced by Ducru Beaucaillou, exhibits a refined complexity that is characteristic of its origin.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, through Yohan Castaing, awarded it a score of 93, noting its "perfumed bouquet of dark berries, flowers, gentian and fresh licorice," and praised its "lively and refined" nature with "somewhat firm tannins" and a "gently grippy finish." The wine was harvested between September 30 and October 15.

Jane Anson from janeanson.com was particularly impressed, scoring it a 95 and describing it as having "a gorgeously vivid, lifted nose, with floral aromatics, dark berry and cassis fruits." She admired its "fleshy but understated" elegance and noted its aging in 100% new oak.

Vinous, represented by Antonio Galloni, rated the wine 96 points. He described the 2024 Ducru Beaucaillou as "a sleek, elegant wine" with "silky tannins" and a "distinctly mid-weight, lithe personality." Galloni highlighted the presence of "blue/black fruits, lavender, cloves, menthol and chocolate," suggesting it will be intriguing to observe its aging process.

Jeff Leve of TheWineCellarInsider.com also gave it a 96, highlighting a "perfume" of "Asian spices, violets, flowers, saffron, licorice, and black with red currants." He appreciated its "balance between the wine's energy, purity, and vibrancy," with an "energetic finish" supported by "chalky tannins and crispness."

Overall, the 2024 Ducru Beaucaillou is a wine that stands out for its elegance, complexity, and potential for aging, as evidenced by the excellent reviews from multiple respected critics.
