Viña Zorzal’s Corral de los Altos 2024 is a single-vineyard Garnacha from D.O. Navarra, part of a house style that emphasizes indigenous varieties and site expression. The wine is sourced from the Corral de los Altos parcel—described by the producer as a “vino de paraje”—with old-vine Garnacha and a clear focus on freshness as much as ripeness.

Critical reception for the 2024 is notably strong. Vinous leads the way with an excellent 95-point review, calling it “vibrant and precise” and saying it “captures the variety’s bright, floral side with freshness and clarity.” The note centers on clean, aromatic detail—“roses, fresh cherry, rosehip and subtle herbal tones”—followed by a “dry, energetic palate” shaped by “juiciness and freshness.” The tannins are framed as more structural than heavy, with “lightly firm tannins” that bring “tension” and a “gentle grip on the finish.”

James Suckling also rates it highly at 94 points, describing a more perfume-and-red-fruit profile: “hibiscus-infused water with wild berries on the nose,” then a palate that is “subtle,” with “delicate red fruit and precise yet silky tannins,” finishing “tasty and refined.” Suckling adds a key site detail, noting it comes from “a single terraced vineyard planted on rocky, calcareous soils,” and suggests flexibility: “Drink now or hold.”

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate publishes it at 93+ and provides the most technical insight. Reviewer Luis Gutiérrez reports fermentation with “10% full clusters in a 10,000-liter concrete vat” and élevage of “one year in 13 500-liter French oak barrels.” He notes a “bright ruby color” and a “primary and fruit-driven” profile that feels “simple and straightforward but with more depth and complexity than is apparent.” The wine comes in at 13.52% alcohol (pH 3.41; 5.15 grams of acidity), with 8,600 bottles produced and bottling in July 2025.
