Everything is in balance, providing a lingering, seamless endnote that allows you to experience the purity and wealth of fruit, which lingers for over 60 seconds. (97-99 points) Deep purple-hued and completely opaque, the blockbuster 2025 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou checks in as 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot, all resting in 100% new barrels. The nose is rich and concentrated, with pure crème de cassis, graphite, ripe black cherries, spicy wood, and freshly sharpened pencil-driven aromatics. On the palate, it's full-bodied, with a dense, concentrated mid-palate, ripe, building tannins, and a great finish. It checks in at 13.44% alcohol with a pH of 3.8. This structured, pure, and incredibly precise Ducru reminds me slightly of the 2010, with perhaps a touch more finesse.

(97-99 points) Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Ducru-Beaucaillou shimmies out with vibrant notes of freshly crushed black currants and blueberries, opening out to sparkles of violets, licorice, crushed rocks, and cardamom, with a waft of iron ore. The medium-bodied palate is fantastically elegant with firm yet exquisitely ripe, fine-grained tannins and amazing tension to match the delicately nuanced black fruit layers, finishing with epic length and an incredible firework display of minerals and flowers.

(96-99 points) The 2025 Ducru-Beaucaillou is fabulous. Vibrant red/purplish fruit, rose petal, lavender, mint and blood orange are all beautifully sculpted. The purity of the fruit is just remarkable. New oak is 100%, but lower toast levels and a more dialed-in approach here are palpable. Gorgeous floral and savory Cabernet top notes lift the finish. Superb, and one of the highlights of the year, Ducru is absolutely stunning in 2025. - Antonio Galloni

Deep dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Spicy, nuances of undergrowth, black berry fruit, tobacco, dark cherries, candied orange zest, a hint of licorice, inviting bouquet. Complex, tightly meshed, nuances of blackberries, firm, supporting tannins, mineral, subtle extract sweetness, still somewhat closed, will definitely benefit from maturity, somewhat old school, very promising.

(96-98 points) A dense nose to this grand vin, one packed out with vibrant fruit aromatics, with gorgeously interweaved layers of plum cream, violets, chalk, currants and griottes. The palate is fresh, polished, cool and defined, with a luscious and rather velvety core of black fruits, all olive, currant and liquorice, with a wrapping of cedary oak, and a bed of divinely integrated tannins which work together to create a harmonious yet structured whole, yielding to a finish rich in ripe tannin. A remarkable Ducru-Beaucaillou, quite clearly laden with power and depth, but feeling fresh, lithe and energetic, the rich and grained tannins working well with the acidity. A cracking wine which should be remarkable when you pull the cork ten or rather twenty years from now. The yield at Ducru-Beaucaillou was just 22 hl/ha this year, and the blend is 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot, from the Ducru plots closest to the estuary. The alcohol is 13.44% on analysis. 96-98/100

(95-97 points) (Saint-Julien; 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot; a final yield of 22 hl/ha; 13.5% ABV; tasted at the property). Brilliant. Old school. Big, bold, punchy. Black cherry, mulberry, bramble, blackberry and, with aeration, a little cassis and blueberry too. Mimosa, violet, iris and peony. This is as floral a vintage as I can remember here. If La Croix is cashmere, this is velvet! Ducru is composed of broad layers beautifully delineated by the pixelating tannins. Fleshy and long, with lots of liquorice on the finish. This is very lifted for a wine so dense and compact; indeed, it's gravity-defying. A lovely expression of this terroir, very authentic and true to the signature of Ducru over the years but with greater finesse, I find. The last vintage to be made in the old cellar. 95-97

(96-97 points) The intensity is very impressive on the nose, with black currants, raspberries and graphite. Medium- to full-bodied with a powerful structure of steely tannins that are polished and long. Turns fluid, fine and chewy at the end. Wait and see. A blend of 79% cabernet sauvignon and 21% merlot.

Stunning, nuanced, and just full of joy. Reserved flesh, toasted cumin, fresh blueberries and raspberries with rich seams of cassis, fresh pomegranate, and cappuccino, this is very Ducru in its width and breadth, but with a freshness and lift that is very much of the 2025 vintage. Almost certainly this will close down for a number of years, but all is well controlled, with quiet confidence. A wine you will be happy to spend a lot of time with. 3.74 pH. (94-97 points) Crunchy and crispy fruit, lots of cherry like fruit, very concentrated, very deep, very fresh and intense. This is a massive wine with lots of tannin and concentrated cassis like fruit – very fine and very precise ending in a fruity, strong aftertaste with well integrated tannins. This is classic Ducru Beaucaillou that will require 7-8 years of cellaring.
