The current release of Gosset’s “Grand Rosé” non-vintage Brut is composed from a blend of fifty percent each of chardonnay and pinot noir, with eight percent of the pinot noir being still red wine to give the bottling its beautiful salmon color. The wine is from the base year of 2014 and includes ten percent reserve wines from the previous vintage. It was disgorged in 2019 after four years aging sur latte and finished with a dosage of eight grams per liter. The wine delivers a refined aromatic constellation of tangerine, watermelon, a hint of rhubarb, a beautiful base of chalky soil tones, fresh-baked bread and a topnote of rose petals. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a superb core, lovely mineral undertow, refined mousse and a long, zesty and impeccably balanced finish. As this is a non-malo wine, it has years and years of life still ahead of it, but the wine is drinking splendidly today.

A fruity and open rosé champagne with notes of red apples, raspberries, brioche and honey. Touch of balsamic. Medium-bodied, with soft bubbles and a broad, inviting array of red berry fruit. Nicely dry and fresh at the end. 50% chardonnay and 50% pinot noir, based on the 2016 harvest with 8% reserve wines, with 8% red wine. Disgorged October 2022. 8g/L dosage. Drink now.

Composed of 48% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot, and the rest Meunier, with 2019 as its base, the bright pale salmon-colored NV Champagne Grand Brut Rosé is fresh and fruity on the nose, with notes of peach candies, fresh strawberries, white flowers, grapefruit, and wet stone. Spritely and medium-bodied, it’s fully dry and zippy on the palate, with a pillowing mousse, a much more citrus-inflected profile, and a clean, bright finish. Mouthwatering, with a powerful edge that implies some ageabilty, it’s going to offer a good deal of enjoyment over the coming 7-8 years. Disgorged in Spring 2023. - Audrey Frick

Light coral in color, Gosset’s Grand Rosé Brut NV is crisp and distinct with bright citrus, raspberry and wet stone aromas leading into a honed, medium-bodied palate shaped by brisk acidity, red berry fruit and minerality. The NV Brut Grand Rosé is an elegant, vinous Champagne comprised of 55% Chardonnay, 37% Pinot Noir and 8% still red Pinot Noir. Deceptively pale in color, the Grand Rosé offers plenty of textural intensity and resonance. Cranberries, crushed rocks, mint, white flowers, white pepper and orange peel abound.
