The NV Cuvee Rose is unique in terms of its history, the way it is made, and the design of its bottle. Prior to 1968, making non-vintage rose champagne was virtually unthinkable. It was in the midst of a cultural revolution that the visionary Bernard de Nonancourt gave it its credentials. This daring wine combines real structure with freshness and a soft, vinous character.

When Bernard de Nonancourt launched Laurent-Perrier NV Cuvee Rose in 1968, he decided to present his creation in a uniquely distinctive bottle to magnify this very special cuvee. He found his inspiration in the rather stubby bottles manufactured in the time of King Henri IV, adding the seal-like monogrammed ‘LP’ shield. The packaging, which seemed very modern at the time, has gradually evolved since 1968.

Subtle, forthright, and very fresh on the nose, Cuvee Rose Laurent-Perrier suggests a basket of fresh small berry fruits: strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, redcurrants, and morello and black cherries. The palate is lively and well-rounded, structured and fresh, with a gently-rounded, delicate finish.

The NV Laurent-Perrier Brut Rosé, a Champagne blend produced in France, specifically in the renowned Champagne region, is a standout rosé wine that has garnered consistently high praise from professional reviewers. This wine, with a 12% alcohol content and sealed with a cork closure, is celebrated for its rich and fruity profile, making it a versatile choice for various occasions.

James Suckling awarded this wine a score of 92, describing it as "Very fruity with lots of strawberry and cherry character. Full and flavorful. Soft and fruity. Delicious and opulent aftertaste." Suckling commends its fruit-forward style and suggests it is ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Wine Spectator also rated it 92, noting its elegance and sleek, satiny texture. The review highlights flavors of "creamed cherry and raspberry puree, almond biscotti, fleur de sel and pink grapefruit zest," and praises its "lingering, minerally finish." This review suggests that the wine will continue to evolve and can be enjoyed through 2026.

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate echoes these sentiments, giving it a 92 and commenting on its "notes of smoky red berry fruit, apples, blood orange, pomegranate and warm biscuits." The review emphasizes its medium to full-bodied nature and delicate mousse, calling it a "sophisticated, gastronomic rosé."

Wine Enthusiast, rating it 91, points out its dark color achieved through skin maceration and the premier cru vineyards it comes from. The review mentions the wine's "ripe, structured" nature with hints of tannins and rich strawberry fruits, balanced by acidity and freshness.

Jeb Dunnuck, also awarding it a 92, praises its forward nature, ripe currants, fresh herbs, and smoky perfume, suggesting it pairs excellently with beef tartar and richer raw preparations.

Finally, The Wine Independent highlights the wine's 100% Pinot Noir composition and its salmon pink color achieved through a 48-72 hour maceration. Scoring it 92, the review notes its "savory red fruit aromas," creamy palate, and "little tannic grip on the finish."

Overall, the NV Laurent-Perrier Brut Rosé is celebrated for its rich fruit flavors, elegant texture, and versatility, making it a highly recommended choice among rosé Champagnes.
