Coralie de Boüard is the second generation of one of Bordeaux's great wine families, with the Boüard family behind properties like Chateau Angelus and La Fleur de Boüard. Chateau Clos de Boüard has been Coralie’s dedicated undertaking and 2016 was the debut vintage. The estate’s second wine, ‘La Dame’ is an incredible right bank value for under 20 bucks, earning 93pts in this classic vintage. All pedigree aside, this is just a gorgeous look at how the little known satellite region next to Saint-Emilion is capable of producing beautiful wines that offer extraordinary value. At just under 20 bucks, and from a top vintage that's just hitting its stride, this is the perfect house red for Bordeaux fans to stock up on by the case!

Hubert de Boüard (Angelus) and his daughter Coralie may have made their reputation in Saint Emilion, but Coralie has pushed the family focus to the satellite AOCs of Lalande de Pomerol and Montagne St Emilion. These regions are proving to have extraordinary potential in the right hands, because in truth, the raw materials aren’t much different. Combining Merlot's plummy red fruit, and Cabernet Franc’s polished tannin and floral aromas, the 2016 ‘La Dame’ is yet another home run from one of Bordeaux’s great winemaking families.

93 points, James Suckling: "This has very attractive violets, plums and purple fruit on offer with a very plush and elegant feel on the palate, as well as a polished and long aftertaste. Super long and elegant. Very polished."
