Orange-amber color with a tawny edge. One can never have this Colheita too many times and at the rate I've opened bottles of this Krohn in the past year, I am going to run out within two years. It is an addicting Port, so beautifully balanced and vivid due to the phenomenal level of acidity. This 1976 began with a simply seductive whiff of tropical and citrus fruits, golden raisins, nutmeg and loads of dried peach. I could add a half dozen more descriptors, but on to the palate. It just takes one sip. Seriously, you take one sip and look around and everyone else with a glass of this Krohn in hand is smiling. Big bold flavors, razor sharp acidity -- penetrating and precise, it's an exotic elixir with Indian spices, roasted nuttiness behind every swallow, a warm cinnamon-apple-pie nuance and dried apricot in spades. A remarkable bottling; I remember it was only $75 per, the last time I bought yet another case. Sadly, those days are gone forever.
