One of the two finest wines of Pomerol in 1979 Certan de May's effort has continued to provide exciting drinking. Still a thick garnet color with some amber at the edge this wine offers a flamboyant nose of roasted herbs sweet jammy fruit earth minerals smoke and meat. In the mouth this surprisingly full-bodied intense rich and concentrated wine has shed most of its tannin yet retains remarkable freshness and palate presence.
