Full-bodied with soft and round tannins that have a cashmere texture. Flavors are of dried fruits but also forest floor leaves and autumnal things in general. A little meaty but sweet fruit comes through. Needs drinking.-'89/'99 Bordeaux blind retrospective (2009).

It is deep ruby with an intense roasted smoky bouquet of plums and currants. This full-bodied wine is packed with fruit is chewy and opulent as well as very soft and alcoholic. In spite of the precocious impression the tannin levels are high similar in fact to the 1986. For the first time in my experience I actually prefer the Clerc-Milon to Mouton-Rothschild! A great value. Anticipated maturity: Now-2010. Last tasted 4/91.</P>
