Deep brick red core with contrasting light rim. Given its age this is amazingly fresh, with aromas of smoky black cherries, plums and berry compote enhanced by notes of wet earth, white pepper, spice, forest floor, fresh cut cedar and graphite. All aspects of the wines are well integrated - lively tannins and acidity complement the ripe and refreshing fruits, showcasing its classified growth pedigree and the hallmarks of the great vintage. There’s a generous mouth feel, but this stays light on its feet and with a dry finish. Hailing from the fine stable of Mouton Rothschild, this wine is in prime time drinking form. Improves with aeration, but more than ready to enjoy with an array of dishes. Classic, mature Bordeaux with still plenty of gas left in the tank. Drink now-2025.
