A dense saturated ruby/purple color is followed by a wine that requires coaxing to reveal its aromatic development. Aromas of blackberries cassis earth and a touch of herbs are followed by a deep rustic tannic wine with considerable power and structure. If the tannin and acidity become better integrated this wine will merit an outstanding score but it is too soon to know if that will be the case. It will require 5-6 years of cellaring and has the potential for 20 years of evolution.
