Nothing is out of balance in this explosively rich thick highly-extracted Cabernet. A compelling historic Cabernet Sauvignon it will drink well for 30-35 years.

An ultrarich and polished Cabernet superripe and jammy with a dense concentration of thick and spicy plum wild berry black cherry and currant. Finishes with pretty dashes of oak coffee chocolate and vanilla. Best from 2003 through 2015. 1000 cases made.

Acclaimed initially for their huge ripeness and power, the 1997s from Napa have not always fulfilled that early promise. This wine is joyous and fully ready, yet not in decline. The nose is voluptuous and seductive, with opulent blackcurrant aromas. It has the vintage's sumptuousness and power, but lacks some texture and acidity. Nonetheless the finish is long and silky.
