Bigger and more serious than the 98 Clos-de-l'Arlot in virtually all respects. There is superb color, licorice and chocolate notes mixed with a touch of leather to go with the impressive sève, which nicely balances off the considerable structure. Given its classification, easily the best wine in this range. This will require 7 to 10 years to fully unwind but it should drink well for half again as long.
