Along with Francois Mitjavile's Roc de Cambes this is one of the finest wines of the Cotes de Bourg. A sleeper of the vintage it is a worthy successor to the wonderful 2000. The deep ruby/purple-colored 2001 offers an enthralling bouquet of melted fudge roasted coffee black cherry jam earth and spice. Beautifully textured heady rich and hedonistic it is a delicious Cotes de Bourg to drink over the next 5-6 years.
