Unmistakably Pomerol. with a nose of wild mushrooms iron hints of milk chocolate and black cherry. With the passing of eight years it seems safe to say that it has proven the fruit core could stand the test of time and it still has an assuring freshness. The finish is superlative--very long and focused with soft silky sweet tannins. It should last for another 5-8 years possibly longer. However if you're looking to experience bottle-aged Pomerol now without breaking the bank this is a sound choice as the 2002 is a very well-balanced elegant Pomerol that with a little decanting is drinking quite well.

You have to like the plum floral and berry aromas in this wine. Medium- to full-bodied with firm tannins and a silky finish. Subtle sweet fruit at the end. Best after 2007. 1665 cases made. -JS

Subtly sweet aromas of maraschino cherry iron and minerals. Suave on entry then sweet supple and fine-grained with captivating somewhat cool red berry floral and smoky oak flavors. Not a powerful or hugely deep style but floral and classy. Finishes with firm tannins that avoid dryness.
