Uncharacteristically un-Latour-ish, this wine is soft and unassuming, yet there is charm here as well. Drinking well now but does not seem to have the substance to hold for the long term. After a problematic flowering, the growing season was warm at best, and there was frequent rain. However, the sun and warmth returned in early September, and Latour left the grapes on the vines late into the season in pursuit of ripeness. The blend is roughly three-quarters Cabernet Sauvignon and one-quarter Merlot, and the result has a bright red berry fruit, floral notes, and a discreet hint of spice.
