The black cherry and plum flavors are accented by sage and thyme in this beefy red. Shows power and assertive tannins, but ends with an echo of sweet fruit. Has fine length. Be patient. Best from 2009 through 2025. 50 cases imported. –BS

An expressive and almost airy nose of earth, spice, game and iron with very rich, firm and well-muscled full-bodied flavors that are textured and possess ample mid-palate sap and concentration. This is a big wine, at least by the standards of 2004 and is at once masculine and even animale and will require even more time than the Bèze to find its center but it should be well worth the wait.
