The finest value here is the 2004 Zinfandel Sonoma (a 60000-case blend of 90% Zinfandel and 10% Petite Sirah). A classic Zin it offers a dark ruby/purple color along with raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with notes of pepper herbs and earth. Tight with earth roasted plum and wild berry fruit that's dense and concentrated with plenty of tannins but those tannins give this wine fine structure finishing with an earthy mix of berry and mineral. Drink now through 2009. 60000 cases made. –JL
