A new wine for Brokenwood and has handsomely repaid four years cellaring prior to release. It is still as fresh as a daisy the aromas of almond and citrus leading into a lively palate which dances on the tongue. Halfway to full maturity; a beautiful teenager.

Still fresh and vibrant, the 2005 Brycefield-Belford Vineyards Semillon is a towering example of Hunter Valley Sémillon. It's got those great evolved aromas of beeswax on the nose, followed by zesty lemon-lime fruit and a long, lingering finish. Drink now or hold (but why?). - Joe Czerwinski

There's a bit of toastiness (or as my son says as he runs up to the toaster "tost! tost!") and rich citrus fruit (more limey than lemony though). Even a bit of kiwi fruit richness creeping in although I'd prefer it if we had nothing to do with Kiwi's when it comes to dry whites.. It's almost creamy (in a HV semillon context of course) with abundant round 2005 vintage fruit and no shortage of flavour or length. I'm coming round to this vintage more and more. It will keep but it's also very good now. Beautiful wine really.
