Like the 2006 Suchots there is plenty of wood influence on the menthol-inflected nose that consists of softly spicy aromas that display mostly red berries that are nuanced by game and pungent earth scents. There is excellent volume to the sleekly muscular, concentrated and serious medium weight plus flavors that culminate in a robust, tannic and slightly edgy finish that exhibits fine length. I like the complexity and power though it's not clear that this is ever going to completely lose the tannic edge is presently displays. In any event, this is very clearly still on its way up and I would be inclined to hold it for at least another decade as it is robust to the point of being rustic now. 2026+
