A dark red core is surrounded by a lighter pink rim with hints of violet. Dusty black fruit and blueberry aromas are encircled by black licorice and sage and mint with beautiful floral violet notes. This is a very elegant style of wine. Fresh red raspberry and strawberry flavors up front are mirrored by dark blackberry on the back. This is a full and balanced wine. Tasted twice with consistent notes.From the owners of Le Gay La Violette is produced from a 1.5 hectare parcel on the edge of Le Pin. All fermentation is done in barrel and the whole berries are placed in one by one to avoid bruising of the fruit.

The first vintage for the new owners only begins to show the full potential of the vineyard. Yet, there is no denying the smoky, spice, truffle, black raspberry and floral secondary aromatics.
