(the Garenne and Chalumeaux components of this wine both began in new barrels) Superripe aromas of stone fruits orange clove chalk and nuts slightly perfumey. Fat and creamy-rich but with a dry underlying minerality giving it a bit more verve and restraint than the preceding samples. This very rich sweet wine finishes with good vivacity and minerality but my enthusiasm waned as the more exotic honey and lichee notes emerged and the finish turned a bit heavy and dry. Served this with fish done in a rich cream sauce Matrot advises.
