Showing even better than on release the 2007 Château de Vaudieu Châteauneuf-du-Pape (a blend of 80% concrete aged Grenache 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre) is one hedonistic gorgeously fruited 2007 that boasts knockout aromatics of crème de cassis black raspberries licorice lavender smoked herbs and roasted meat like aromas on the nose. Full-bodied and seamless on the palate with a rich decadent mouth feel beautiful balance and a blockbuster finish this serious stuff is approachable now due to the wealth of fruit yet will be even better in 2-3 years and have upwards of 15+ years of longevity. The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is a full-bodied exceptionally aromatic effort displaying plenty of sweet black cherry licorice garrigue and earth as well as a subtle note of oak in a full-bodied opulent style. One of the oldest estates in Chateauneuf du Pape (the winery which is actually a true chateau was constructed in the mid-1700s) Chateau de Vaudieu is located adjacent to Rayas just a few kilometers northeast of the village. One of the appellation's largest estates (175 acres in vine) Vaudieu's quality has soared over recent years as the famed oenologist Philippe Cambie has been working here since 2003.

This is saturated with braised fig melted black licorice and freshly brewed espresso notes forming the core with bittersweet ganache mesquite and iron notes weaving through the background.
