The first vintage where they used new stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks, the 2008 Ciel du Cheval Vineyard surpasses the Sorella and offers fabulous notes of black raspberries, smoked herbs, licorice and violets. Made from 36% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Cabernet Franc, it has a darker, richer profile than normal for this cuvee, beautifully ripe tannin and a great finish. - Jeb Dunnuck
