Sexy aromas of tangerine, pear, white flowers and minerals, plus a subtle smoky quality that gains strength with air. Vibrant and finely etched, offering sweet citrus flavors and a strong lashing of minerals. Weightier on the finish, which leaves sappy melon and candied orange notes in its wake. This wine's blend of power and vivacity is impressive.

The 2008 Chardonnay Sea Smoke (14.8% alcohol) has a medium golden color, and an expressive nose of lemon blossoms, nectarines, and orange marmalade. The 2008 Chardonnay Sea Smoke (14.8% alcohol) has a medium golden color, and an expressive nose of lemon blossoms, nectarines, and orange marmalade. It hits the palate with extraordinarily bright white currant and quince notes. Its acid profile is similar to some of the naked Diatom Chardonnays. Expressive, but still tightly coiled in the mouth, this wine will age nicely for a decade or more as well. 91+
