Reviews for 2008 Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

WS 93
Wine Spectator - Wine Spectator, May 2012
Chewy with tannin, but bursting with fresh currant and plum, sneaking in hints of mint and black tea as the finish lingers. A graceful wine that has miles to go. Best from 2013 through 2018. – HS

Dark opaque red and black at the core with a ruby rim. The nose displays pulverized minerals to match the classic cabernet aromas of cassis and saddle leather along with notes of cedar and cranberry. With some time in the glass slight hints of menthol and eucalyptus appear. Light on the entry this reveals its concentration in the midpalate with an impressive core of fruit and chocolate and a tannic backbone. Those tannins start to turn a bit silky on the long finish. Although delicious and concentrated now this will reveal more complexity with a few years in the bottle. Drink 2012-2018+. (Note: The 2005 vintage of this wine as a #1 Wine Of The Year from the Wine Spectator).
