Reviews for 2008 Girardin, Vincent Echezeaux Grand Cru

IWC 92
Stephen Tanzer's IWC - Stephen Tanzer's IWC, April 2010
Medium red-ruby. Expressive aromas and flavors of redcurrant licorice and tobacco. Sweet suave and broad with a plumper texture than most of the foregoing samples. Finishes with suave tannins and good subtle persistence.

A very ripe exuberantly spicy and plumy nose features some earth influence that is also reflected by the rich full and very generous medium weight plus flavors that retain a reasonable sense of detail and while this leans in the direction of being stylistically modern there is a bit more restraint here compared to several of the prior wines. I would suggest cellaring this for 8 to 10 years.
