Dark purple core spreads to a ruby garnet rim. Aromas of currant and plum fill the glass along with crushed rock and flowers complemented by charcoal mocha vanilla and a kiss of oak. On entry this medium bodied wine is rather expressive showing coffee bean and herbs while the mid palate introduces the wine's tannic structure and acidity. The finish is layered with spice and raspberry and offers nice length. Give this rarely seen 2nd wine of St. Emilion superstar Troplong Mondot another 2-3 years and enjoy the following 10.
