The 2008 Passopisciaro emerges with gorgeous textural richness in its elegant silky tannins. Despite its considerable concentration the wine literally floats on the palate with layers of perfumed red fruits. Everything is perfectly balanced in this harmonious utterly impeccable wine. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.

Etna Nerello Mascalese comes to life in this glass with aromatics of candied raspberry and mulling spice. Concentrated raspberry becomes more pronounced on the palate along with inviting cherry and licorice back tones. The wine finishes with focused elegance showcasing chiseled minerality that melds together with mouthwatering acidity. Don't be fooled by the translucent hue this effort has great depth and layers of spice that will ultimately need another year or two to develop. The 2008 is a baby and deserves another year to 5 years to showcase its pedigree. Like a quality pinot or nebbiolo this wine deserves a well-appointed slow braised meat dish. Heavenly!
