65% cabernet sauvignon 25% merlot 5% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot. Made in the same cellars and same style as Chateau Saint Pierre this is one of the best value wines from St. Julien for the 2009 vintage. Aromas of blackberry and black cherry mingle with notes of mint eucalyptus licorice and a touch of espresso. Firm tannins offer structure to the fruit and thanks to some vibrant acidity all the components are in beautiful balance. This should last 20 years easily while providing immediate drinking pleasure. Bravo!

One of the best value St-Juliens, this is an estate that was beginning to come in to its own around 2009, and it shows extremely well here. The tannins increase a touch as you head north in the Médoc, filling the glass, but in St-Julien they're always tempered by a blast of freshness and elegance. This is succulent, utterly delicious and pliable, with juicy black fruits. It's pretty much ready to go too, but with tons of life ahead of it. A bloody great wine, one I thoroughly recommend for its quality and value also.

Great stuff, juicy, balanced, enticing, 2009 in a glass. Just a brilliant wine, so delicious and balanced, packed with soft brambled fruits, liquorice and graphite. Not the most intense and concentrated that you'll find in St Julien but this is joyful, great stuff and ready to drink. A buy.

Served blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. I was mean with my score at first. Tasted blind it felt a little aggressive, but the more it remained in my glass the more I can to appreciate it (one yearns for a decanter and more time in situations such as this.) There is still some oak to be resolved here, but this is well defined, more complex than its peers with blackberry, crushed stone, cedar and raspberry jam. The palate is medium-bodied with firm grip on the entry. Masculine, harmonious with good concentration on the finish, this is an extremely fine wine.

Medium garnet colored, the 2009 Gloria rolls out of the glass with alluring scents of potpourri, Black Forest cake, Morello cherries and raspberry compote with touches of rose hip tea, cinnamon stick and lavender. Medium to full-bodied, it packs the palate with generous red berry preserves and exotic spices layers, framed by velvety tannins, finishing long and perfumed. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Medium.full bodied with fresh blackberry, chocolate and cherry scents, this supple textured, ripe, sweet wine will compete with many classified growths in a blind tasting. At just under $40, this blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot is a Bordeaux wine worth buying.

A serious young wine crammed with plum cake blackberry preserves warm fig confiture and blueberry reduction flavors all laced with briar and sweet toasty spice notes and backed by a long tarry finish. Has a rustic edge but lots of stuffing. Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2014 through 2025. 20415 cases made.
