Expressive floral notes resonate beautifully in a firm, beautifully balanced Barbaresco. Plum, espresso, tobacco, tar, rose petals and leather notes add complexity on the finish. Ideally, the 2009 is best cellared for another year or two to allow some of the tannins to soften further. The Coparossa has deeper color and higher acidity than the Rabajà. This is an impressive showing,

Freshly cut flowers, spices, mint and small red berries are layered into the vibrant, tightly coiled finish. Today, the Coparossa is somewhat compact, but if it fills out, it might merit a higher score. Coparossa is made from parcels in San Cristoforo, Neive and Pajore, Treiso. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. - Antonio Galloni

Garnet with a tinge of brick in the glass, this young and youthful Barbaresco is just starting to unwind. Deliciously pretty aromas of fresh flowers and red berries are layered with menthol and mineral notes. The palate is still high toned with more red fruit and tight tannins present from start to finish. This is a baby that needs a long decant if you are even thinking about drinking now, but should gain weight with a few years in bottle. Focused, transparent and classy.
