Here the wood is so subtle that it's almost invisible and is very likely to be absorbed rapidly. There is a soft spice component that adds breadth to the exceptionally fresh and relatively refined combination of red and blue pinot fruit stone Gevrey style earth and a hint of forest floor. There is excellent richness and volume to the detailed and highly energetic medium-bodied flavors that exude an understated minerality on the impeccably well-balanced and lengthy finish. Bouchard always seems to craft a wine of excellence from this terroir and 2010 is no exception. Sweet spot Outstanding.
