Susana Balbo's new releases begin with the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon which has 10% Malbec in its blend. It was made from 33-year-old ungrafted vines and aged for 13 months in 80% new French oak before bottling without fining and filtration. Aromas of wood smoke spice box tobacco coffee and assorted black fruits inform the nose of a supple easygoing relatively forward wine that will deliver plenty of pleasure over the next 5-7 years. - Jay Miller
