An entrancing wine for the intensity, complexity and striking grapefruit aromas, perfectly pitched sulphides, the oak is set in deep and the mouthwatering intensity of citrus and stone fruit aromas is absolutely striking, still immensely youthful. The palate has fleshy, deep and concentrated fruit flavors of lemon-drizzled white nectarine, yellow peach and melon. Acidity is assertive yet the supple and fleshy solids-derived texture is not compromised for a second. Terrific depth and purity, lemon-peach custard and brulée to close. Drink now. - Nick Stock

Matchstick fine cinnamon and ginger oak yeast lime and nectarine. It's fine dry and flinty but with surprising mango lime and nectarine fruit richness. Acidity is fine too mouthwatering which sounds a whole lot more appealing than `salivating'. Not as deep as some but fine bones and clarity win the day. Length is excellent too. A stylish wine not without some artifice but has the substance to back it. And hey it's Chardonnay after all.

The 2010 Heytesbury Chardonnay is another blockbuster for this wine. It offers classic Burgundian-method scents of judiciously used oak brioche ginger toasted almonds and honeysuckle plus a touch of chalk dust over a core of peach kernel lemon tart and grapefruit peel. The medium-bodied palate hits that magic sweet-spot of intense flavor coupled with an ethereal lightness and a lively yet seamless acid line that makes this wine incredibly "more-ish" (makes you want more!). It finishes with wonderfully persistent toast and spice layers. Tantalizingly drinkable yet awfully primary now it should reward cellaring and drink to 2020+. -Lisa Perrotti-Brown

An oceanic chardonnay with complex fruit character this layers leesy scents beeswax fresh apple and nectarine into a tense wine with richness that verges on the decadent. Oak is there but the fragrance is much more about floral fruit finishing with a sense of finesse. A barrel selection of the best parcels from estate vineyards this should age with grace.
