2010: Another small estate owned by the talented Jean-Philippe Janoueix this 12-acre vineyard planted in gravelly soils was cropped at 28 hectoliters per hectare and the final blend was 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that reached 14.5% natural alcohol. Full-bodied with notes of smoky barbecue interwoven with creme de cassis black cherries licorice and espresso roast it reveals excellent fruit and a juicy attack and mid-palate before the tannins kick in. Big and masculine it will need 5-6 years of cellaring and should keep for 15-20+.
