A marvel.

An explosion of lemon guava grapefruit lime and fresh picked flowers poured over wet rocks make up the perfume. An explosion of lemon guava grapefruit lime and fresh picked flowers poured over wet rocks make up the perfume. Thick rich incredibly concentrated and intense this dense wine has the perfect amount of acidity to feel bright and fresh. This was the only wine from the Pessac Leognan tasting that was too good to spit. I put the wine where it belonged.

Full and powerful the wine has weight an almost Burgundian richness although never losing sight of the herbaceous edge of Sauvignon Blanc. Packed with power still food friendly.

Composed of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon and in need of 8-10 years of cellaring this is one of the most backward dry whites of the vintage with unbelievable minerality and personality.

Very pure with a stony frame to the straw verbena and gooseberry notes. Superfresh but not overly tangy with a long suave finish. -J.M.

Lemon chamomile vanilla ginger and a faint lactic nuance on the restrained minerally nose. Pliant and sweet in the mouth offering good concentration and fat to the vinous lemon guava and grapefruit flavors. Very minerally on the long finish showing lingering notes of peach vanilla and coconut. This should age splendidly and will probably be at its best between 2020 and 2035.

Harvested from Sep 9 to 28. Smoke and citrus hit the nose up front complemented by gooseberry white grapefruit and crushed sea shells. On the palate this shows bright flavors of green apple juicy citrus and sleek mineral notes in the form of wet stone gravel and flint. The fat waxy character is kept taught and bright by stellar acids that carry through to a long balanced and exciting finish. Simply pops in your mouth. An exciting wine that should be bright and fun to drink young it will gain even greater depth with 10 years maybe even 20+. 13.5% alcohol. 1250 cases produced.
