Currants and dark fruits with hints of licorice. Full and silky with ripe tannins and berry. Cigar tobacco and berry. Sweet tobacco. This is a wine that shows serious depth of fruit and refined tannins. Better in 2016.

Classic, ripe Saint-Julien with all its richness, tempered with elegance. It is deliciously fruity, packed with blackberry fruit surrounding the structure. ROGER VOSS

The wine offers up a deep, ripe and classy nose of cassis, black cherries, espresso, cigar smoke, gravelly soil tones and a discreet base of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and quite nicely balanced, with fine mid-palate depth, well-measured tannins and really lovely length and grip on the finish. There are not really that many 2010s that are this poised and balanced. A fine result. (Drink between 2018-2040)
