Very ripe with boysenberry and fig notes laced with spice and blueberry. Juicy and focused on the finish. All pleasure. Tasted non-blind. -J.M.

A tiny garagiste operation from the manager of Gerard Perse's estates (Pavie Pavie Decesse and Monbousquet) this blend of 70% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon (it sounds a lot like Pavie to me) hit 13.9% alcohol. A beautiful effort it is a deep ruby/purple-tinged soft round opulent fleshy St.-Emilion that will be enjoyed by hedonists over the next 7-10 years.

A blend of 70% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon the Lusseau is quite backward. The palate is full-bodied with dense tannins dark berried fruit quite lactic on the entry with touches of dark chocolate nice definition towards the finish. Perhaps the oak is a little dominant but I like the balance. Drink 2012-2020.

75% Merlot 25% Cabernet Franc produce a wine filled with licorice oak and jammy dark berries that ends with a medium bodied ripe fennel infused cherry finish.

This very savory and juicy with a berry and chalky character. Lots of chocolate too. Full and chewy yet polished and refined. Better in 2016.

The vineyard owned by Gerard Perse's property manager is separated from Monbousquet by only a small county road. Vines of about 47 years of age are planted to sandy-gravel soil. Hand-harvested October 5th to 13th with net yields of just 32 hls/ha. On the nose aromas of bright red fruit dark chocolate coffee and toasty oak appear. This wine is full bodied and concentrated with flavors of raspberry and cassis. As the wine glides across the palate there is strong minerality and a chalky texture with balanced acidity leading to a finish that is long and spicy. This wine will drink well over the next 5-8 years but is probably capable of lasting through 2025. Michel Rolland consults.
