The 2010 Chardonnay Ma Princesse wraps around the palate with deep layers of fruit. The richness of the small berries and old Wente clones comes through as the fruit caresses the palate from start to finish. Sweet floral notes add lift and brightness on the close. This vivid multi-dimensional Chardonnay should drink well for a number of years. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. -Antonio Galloni

More exotic high-toned aromas of Poire William clove and butterscotch. Thicker and fatter than the Ma Douce conveying a strong impression of dry extract. But there's still a surprising lightness and good energy to the seamless flavors of citrus zest and spices. Finishes with a note of coconut which I attribute to the Louis Latour barrels used for this bottling (Morlet uses 25% new oak for his chardonnays).

Crushed rocks tart citrus and a touch of floral notes show on the slightly restrained nose. Fruit flavors expand across the mid-palate with bright acidity offering lift and focus to this medium-bodied wine. The bright and lively finish should lengthen with time. Still young this will impress even more after another 3-5 years in the bottle.
