The 2010 Riesling "had bugger all botrytis," says Winemaker Matthew Donaldson. On the nose is cold buttered toast, lemon pith, nashi pear, layers of lanolin and chalk, cheesecloth and grip. This is far more austere than the 2007 tasted beside it, but it flows unbroken across the palate, with no pixelation of texture or fruit through the finish. Very impressive. - Erin Larkin
